The two day digital marketing and advertising conference, Ad:tech 2016, held in Delhi started with a bang attracting several renowned publishers, advertisers, service providers and digital startups to attend this grand event. Our team at Logicserve Digital was pretty excited and all geared up to exchange digital ideas and interesting opportunities at this impressive digital world conference.
Big start-up players like Offerslook from Hongkong, Baidu and Yeahmobi from China and several Israeli and Russian marketing technology providers had graced this action packed event, making efforts to connect with the Indian Companies. There were event sponsors also, who hosted panels. One such was TUNE, the company behind TUNE Marketing Console and HasOffers which had announced a day before that they are expanding their India operations. The panel they hosted, shared insights on App marketing and its way forward in India. The big networking party also, which was hosted by sponsors such as Fork, Xapads Media and Guevera saw a good turnout of attendees to connect within the digital marketing space.
This 2-day grand event gave our team several takeaways. Some of the best are shared below:
Day1 – Influencer Marketing and the science of engagement
Day one saw an amazing session on influencer marketing with insights from actor Madhavan and actress Shilpa Shetty.
Anticipating the potential of virtual reality, Madhavan said, “In the near future with virtual reality one can attend the Filmfare award sitting at home.”

Day 2 – Evolving marketing technologies and revolution in retail
The brilliant knowledge and conversation we exchanged during the first day of the conference was overwhelming and made us anticipate for exciting next day.
‘Death of ads’ began with a discussion on clear segregation between vanity metrics and real metrics. We attended the session on looking beyond vanity metrics which talked about the pitfalls of ignoring the actionable metrics in a cross-channel and cross-device world.

The day also saw an interesting session on Evolving marketing technologies. The panel discussed about integrating technology for multi channel and cross device attribution with an aim to answer a very important question – will the marketers ever find a single customer view solution?
Amandeep Kaur, Head – Marketing Communications at Myntra, said, “Combination of devices is critical for the best results; one device window won’t give a desired output.”
