Nupur Abrol is an Assistant Manager – Digital Marketing at Skechers.

This week, we connected with Nupur to get a peek into her normal routine and how she works on managing the digital marketing activities for a brand like Skechers.

Here’s a look at her normal working day.

  1. How does your normal working day look like?

My typical day starts with listing down the tasks to complete for the day, but first: COFFEE. I push myself to exercise every day as it helps me to be more productive throughout the day. As a digital marketer, you have to think out-of-the-box & be spontaneous, and at the same time be careful of the overall sales impact. It is fun working on Skechers as a brand as it gives me leverage to work on different products simultaneously. With so much to do, it never gets BORING here at Sketchers!

  1. What are the most helpful tools according to you that help you get the job done efficiently?

I think there is no ONE tool for all your digital needs, but there are Nanigans & Radian6 for paid media, Native platforms for Twitter & FB and Sprout Social for organic. Programmatic tools are quickly picking pace at a consistent rate with several industry majors opting for them readily; I think that’s the future ahead.

  1. How did you get into digital marketing? What do you love about your job? 

Well, I started as a marketer & a co-founder for an NGO during my college days & later worked as a marketing assistant for an app startup. After completing my Master’s in Media Planning, I got more interested in learning new tools, and impact of the digital industry on the present and the future made it an exciting field to work in. The best part of my job is that it brings along with it ample knowledge, various ways to gauge reach, & powerful media to communicate with your audience daily.

  1. Tell us about your hobbies. What do you do to unwind from the busy working life?

Learning new dance styles, working out, exploring new places & knowing about different cultures, tastes, etc. helps me unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

  1. Any advice for people who want to get into this dynamic digital marketing space?

Being open to learning & keeping up with the enthusiasm to come up with strategic solutions in modern day marketing is the key to succeed in the digital marketing space.
