Since e-commerce is a promising business of future, it has asked for a specific set of law and guidelines to govern domestic e-commerce.

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), sent a communication to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, about the need for a separate ministry to govern domestic e-commerce trade. It urges for a national policy for retail and a separate ministry for internal trade. It has further suggested that MUDRA should be made an independent regulator.

Further, CAIT has suggested a national campaign to encourage digital payment, with the opinion that it will curb black money. The letter states that CAIT has launched a campaign with MasterCard and HDFC Bank for supporting the idea of cashless economy.
